Larry J. Merlo
Larry Merlo is President and Chief Executive Officer of CVS Caremark. Merlo, who has more than 30 years of pharmacy health care experience, began his career as a pharmacist at People’s Drug, which ultimately became part of CVS/pharmacy. Over the years, he held positions of increasing responsibility including president of CVS/pharmacy.
Under his leadership, CVS/pharmacy generated industry-leading sales and profit results through both organic growth and acquisitions, including the acquisition and integration of more than 500 Longs Drug stores, nearly 700 Osco/Sav-on locations, and more than 1,260 Eckerd stores.
