Mail Operations provides prescription translation and verification, engagement of physicians' offices to initiate clinical conversations for alternative therapies based on a patient's existing regimen or support compounding, and dispensing of prescriptions using our advanced environment.
Clinical Interventions/Operations includes prior authorization and appeals, evaluation of prescription orders for clinical appropriateness and cost savings and opportunities with physician consulting, and patient counseling for alternative medication regimens.
Drug Therapy Management allows for direct delivery of pharmaceutical care services over the phone including drug therapy monitoring, patient education, drug information and chronic disease state management for our clinical programs.
Specialty Pharmacy provides integrated solutions supporting more than 25 diseases. Through our specialty mail and retail facilities, we provide disease management information, and counseling and training through a network of Pharmacists and Nurses. Our CarePlus facilities operate in intimate, apothecary settings to support patient screenings, testing and monitoring solutions, while also filling prescriptions, managing inventory control, and marketing activities with sales staff and networking with local physicians.
Clinical Formulary supports our CVS Caremark National Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee formulary process, including the preparation and presentation of documents in support of the Committee, updating of monographs for clients, and client pharmacy and therapeutics processes.
Pharmacist positions can also be found within Analytics, Compliance, Formulary, Quality Control, Sales, Training and Management areas. While all positions have an impact on the quality of health care we offer our participants, the amount of direct external interaction varies based on the type of role. Most positions offer set schedules with flexibility for a variety of shifts.
