The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust announced on January 15, 2010 that it donated $175,000 to humanitarian organizations involved in the earthquake relief effort in Haiti. The Trust donated $125,000 to the American Red Cross for Haitian relief efforts, $25,000 to Partners in Health, based in Boston, and $25,000 to Operation Helping Hands, based in Miami.
Partners in Health is a nationally-recognized health agency whose flagship network of clinics in Haiti provides much-needed health services to the island's residents. Operation Helping Hands is a partnership between the United Way of Miami-Dade and the Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald established to provide South Florida residents with a way to help their neighbors in need following a disaster or humanitariancrisis.
