CVS Caremark supports communities in a variety of ways.
CVS Caremark Charitable Trust Foundation
The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust is the private foundation of CVS Caremark Corporation and provides grants which range from $10,000 to $50,000 for one-year support. These grants align with the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust's efforts to improve the quality of health and well-being of underserved populations and also align with CVS Caremark All Kids Can, a signature program of the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust and CVS Caremark that is committed to supporting children with disabilities. The Trust also provides scholarship support for students in college, with a particular focus on pharmacy school scholarships. The 2012 CVS Caremark Charitable Trust Grant Process is now closed.
CVS Caremark Community Grants Program
The CVS Caremark Community Grants program awards funds to nonprofit organizations for the following programs:
- Programs targeting children with disabilities
- Programs focusing on health and rehabilitation services
- Public schools promoting a greater level of inclusion in student activities and extracurricular program
- Initiatives that give greater access to physical movement and play
- Organizations that provide underserved populations with needed care, in particular programs where the care received is of higher quality and delivered by providers who participate in accountable community health care programs
The grant application process runs from January 1 through October 31. Qualifying organizations are eligible for grants of up to $5,000.
At CVS Caremark, our more than 200,000 colleagues have a special responsibility to play a direct role in helping our patients and customers on their path to better health. We couldn’t be more proud of how our teams embody this purpose both professionally and personally through their volunteer efforts. In 2011, our employees donated more than $1 million worth of volunteer hours to numerous charitable organizations across the country. CVS Caremark supports employee volunteerism through the CVS Caremark Community Crew website, Volunteer Challenge Grants and corporate scholarships for the children of employees.
Other Ways We Give
In addition to our grant programs, we provide CVS/pharmacy gift cards to community-based organizations whose missions are vital to helping children and families in the markets where we live and work. These gift cards can be used for much-needed items such as school supplies, personal care items, water and sunscreen. Qualifying organizations are eligible to apply for a gift card up to $100.
