CVS Caremark supports communities in a variety of ways.
The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust is the private foundation of CVS Caremark Corporation. The mission of the Charitable Trust is to support communities by working closely with nonprofit grantees that are dedicated to providing health care to the uninsured, caring for children with disabilities and providing scholarship support for students in college, which includes a particular focus on pharmacy school scholarships. We are proud to report, since 2001, the Trust has awarded grants totaling more than $39 million to more than 1,800 organizations. Of this, $3.3 million was contributed in 2010.

The CVS Caremark Community Grants program awards funds to nonprofit organizations for the following programs:
The grant application process runs from January 1 through October 31. Qualifying organizations are eligible for grants of up to $5,000.

At CVS Caremark, our more than 200,000 colleagues have a special responsibility to play a direct role in improving the quality of life for our patients, customers and plan members. We couldn’t be more proud of how our teams embody this mission both professionally and personally through their volunteer efforts. In 2010, our employees donated more than $1 million worth of volunteer hours to numerous charitable organizations across the country. CVS Caremark supports employee volunteerism through the CVS Caremark Community Crew website, Volunteer Challenge Grants and corporate scholarships for the children of employees.

In addition to our grant programs, we provide CVS/pharmacy gift cards to community-based organizations whose missions are vital to helping children and families in the markets where we live and work. These gift cards can be used for much-needed items such as school supplies, personal care items, water and sunscreen. Qualifying organizations are eligible to apply for a gift card up to $100.
