Access to Healthcare
The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust supports organizations that are increasing access to health care for underserved populations and providing programs to support wellness and prevention.
To advance the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust’s efforts to improve the quality of health and well-being of underserved populations, grants are awarded to support innovative approaches that increase access to health care for underserved populations – including support for mobile health innovations that bring health care services to locations where people need them most.
As the health care landscape continues to change, the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust is committed to funding programs that provide communities greater access to health care and medical services. In 2012, grants totaling more than $680,000 are supporting a wide range of services from wellness programs for military veterans to breast screenings for underserved woman. The California Schools Health Centers Association will use its grant to open three school-based health centers which will serve thousands of students in low-income communities in the Oakland area.
