CVS/pharmacy to Provide H1N1 Vaccinations in Rhode Island by End of Week
WOONSOCKET, R.I., Dec 22, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- CVS/pharmacy announced today that it will provide H1N1 flu vaccinations at select store locations in Rhode Island by the end of this week. The vaccine will be available to all Rhode Islanders who wish to be vaccinated while supplies last. CVS/pharmacy is partnering with the Rhode Island Department of Health to provide vaccinations against H1N1 influenza.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is now encouraging everyone to get an H1N1 flu shot, especially those at highest risk, including: pregnant women, individuals 6 months through 24 years of age, household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age, health care and emergency medical services personnel, and persons aged 25 through 64 who have health conditions that are associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza such as asthma and diabetes.

The cost of the H1N1 flu vaccination shot at CVS/pharmacy is a $15 administration fee, which may be covered by insurance. CVS/pharmacy will waive this fee for the members of the Rhode Island Medical Reserve Corps and Rhode Island school nurses in recognition of their efforts to vaccinate Rhode Island schoolchildren this season.
The availability of H1N1 flu vaccine at CVS/pharmacy will be updated daily at www.cvs.com/flu.
