New Online Service Helps TRICARE Members Easily Transfer Their Prescriptions to CVS/pharmacy
Company pledges donation of up to a total of $50,000 to USO for every visit to www.cvs.com/tricare from January 1 - 31, 2012
WOONSOCKET, R.I., Jan. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CVS/pharmacy, which accepts nearly all Express Scripts insurance plans including TRICARE, has launched a new service on its CVS.com website to assist military service members, veterans and their families who need to transfer their prescriptions to a pharmacy that lets them continue using their TRICARE prescription insurance coverage.
At www.cvs.com/tricare, TRICARE members will find all of the information they need to easily transfer their prescriptions to one of CVS/pharmacy's conveniently located 7,300 pharmacies across the U.S. To help raise awareness of CVS/pharmacy's new webpage for TRICARE members, the Company will donate $3 to the USO for every person who visits www.cvs.com/tricare between January 1 and January 31, 2012, up to a total of $50,000. The money will help the USO continue to provide America's troops and their families with services and programs they need most.
"Throughout the year, the USO lifts the spirits of troops and their families. Our centers and programs offer them a touch of home and keep them connected to loved ones. This is what the USO is all about, but we could not do any of it without the support of generous donors and corporate partners like CVS/pharmacy," said USO SVP and Chief Development Officer Kelli Seely. "We couldn't be more appreciative for this campaign because it gives both our partner and the public a chance to give back to the men and women who give so much for our freedom."
"CVS/pharmacy is committed to helping TRICARE members on their path to better health, which is why we want to make it as easy as possible for members whose insurance may no longer be accepted at their current pharmacy to transfer their prescriptions to us," said Papatya Tankut, RPh, Vice President of Professional Pharmacy Services at CVS/pharmacy. "To help ensure that patients take their medications appropriately and safely, it is important that they have all their prescriptions filled at the same pharmacy. CVS/pharmacy can fill all existing and new prescriptions for TRICARE members."
CVS/pharmacy's prescription transfer process for TRICARE members or other patients covered by an Express Scripts plan who may need to transfer their prescriptions to continue using their insurance coverage is simple and convenient. Patients only need to provide the name of their medication(s), doctor's name, name and phone number of the pharmacy where the prescription was last filled, and the CVS/pharmacy location where the patients wants to pick up prescription(s). Transfers can be done by visiting or calling any CVS/pharmacy location or online at CVS.com.
