PharmaCare One of Five Nationwide Specialty Pharmacies Selected For VIVITROL(TM) Distribution

LINCOLN, R.I., Jun 21, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- PharmaCare, one of the nation's largest pharmaceutical benefit managers, announced today that its specialty pharmacy division, PharmaCare Specialty Pharmacy, has been selected by Cephalon, Inc., and Alkermes, Inc., as a national distributor of its drug VIVITROL(TM) (naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension), the first, once-monthly injectable medication for alcohol dependence available in the United States.

Due to its solid reputation and demonstrated ability to facilitate and manage complex medication regimens, PharmaCare was one of just five specialty pharmacy providers nationwide awarded a two-year distribution contract for VIVITROL.

Administered by a healthcare provider, VIVITROL is indicated for patients who are able to abstain from drinking in an outpatient setting and are not actively drinking when initiating treatment. In clinical studies, VIVITROL was shown to reduce the number of drinking days and heavy drinking days and to improve the chances of complete abstinence.
